Philpott Lake, built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is nestled right along the base of the marvelous Blue Ridge Mountains. The clear blue waters are surrounded by one hundred miles of shoreline and a richly forested landscape that awes hundreds of visitors every year. Philpott also offers an unbelievable amount of recreational activities for guests. These include boating, swimming, hiking, picnicking, biking, hunting, fishing, and wildlife observation. There are also several beach areas and campgrounds to enjoy. While the official website does not provide much information, you can learn plenty about visiting Philpott Lake if you research the name on a search engine.
