Adventure outfitter Blue Cat on the New was recently featured on the Country Cable TV show in the Tri-Cities area.
Blue Cat offers trips on the New River and New River Trail. Folks can paddle the river in canoes and kayaks, float the river on a tube, or enjoy guided fishing trips for walleye, muskie and smallmouth bass.

Philpott Lake, built by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, is nestled right along the base of the marvelous Blue Ridge Mountains. The clear blue waters are surrounded by one hundred miles of shoreline and a richly forested landscape that awes hundreds of visitors every year. Philpott also offers an unbelievable amount of recreational activities for guests. These include boating, swimming, hiking, picnicking, biking, hunting, fishing, and wildlife observation. There are also several beach areas and campgrounds to enjoy.
