Legend has it that many years ago, carefree fairies and nymphs were dancing around a cool spring when an elfin messenger came to them with tragic news of the death of Christ. The fairies were exceedingly sad, and wept. Their tears fell to the ground and crystallized as beautiful stone crosses. Today, these stone crosses can be found throughout Fairy Stone State Park and are known as the ‘lucky fairy stones.’ Beyond the luck it offers, the state park houses the beach and 168-acre lake in which you can swim, canoe, and rent hydro-bikes and paddle boats.
Head over to the Fairy Stone State Park to see the ‘lucky stones’ and gather some luck for yourself.
